A welder at the Baton Rouge shop caught my purge dam on the root pass and I still think about it
I was purging a 6 inch stainless spool with a cardboard disc and tape, and he showed me how the tape was sucking oxygen back in through the gap. Now I use a proper water soluble dam on anything under 8 inches, but has anyone here had trouble getting those dams to dissolve all the way out on a long run?
