Am I the only one who caught the quote about the lighthouse in chapter 9 of our pick this month?
Our club met at Diane's place in Portland on Tuesday and we spent 40 minutes fighting over whether the dad meant it when he called the lighthouse "just a building." I think it was the only honest thing he ever said, but half the table swears it was sarcasm. Anyone else read it the way I did, or am I way off here?
