My book club actually let me pick the book for June and nobody complained for 11 days
We meet at a coffee shop in Tucson on the first Tuesday of every month, and for two years I have been the one who goes along with whatever gets picked. For June I finally got to choose, and I went with a short novel that is only 180 pages, mostly because I was tired of 600 page doorstoppers. The surprising part is that everyone actually read it, and the talk about the ending went on so long the shop had to kick us out at closing. Usually half the group shows up without finishing, so 11 days of zero complaints in the group chat felt like a real win. Has anyone else had luck picking a short book to get everyone to actually finish?
