Everyone says grain direction doesn't matter on small pamphlets, and I think that's wrong
Last week I bound three 16-page pamphlets for a friend's zine and ran the grain running the wrong way on one of them out of laziness, and it now flops open like a paper fan while the other two sit flat on the shelf. Half the folks I ask say for anything under 50 pages the grain won't show, but I can see it in the curl of the cover after two days in a dry room here in Denver. Other side says you should always match grain to the spine no matter how small the job, even if it means buying paper in the right size and wasting some. Where do you all land on this, does grain matter on small runs or am I overthinking it?
