I always figured talking to plants was a bit silly, but my basil changed my mind.

I started chatting with my struggling basil plant while watering it each morning for a week, just as a joke. The thing perked up and doubled in size, while the silent one next to it stayed scrawny. Has anyone else had a plant seem to respond to something like that?

Could just be coincidence, your breath gave it extra CO2.

But how much extra CO2 are we really talking about? Victor Stone is right, human breath is a tiny part of the air... seems like a stretch to blame a whole measurement change on that. Feels like people are looking for a complicated answer when it was probably just random chance.
