I figured moss was just a weed until I read it holds 20x its weight in water
Always thought moss was just something that grew on the north side of trees and looked messy. Then a guy at the Portland botanical garden told me a single patch of sphagnum can soak up 20 times its dry weight in water, which is why bogs stay wet all summer. Now I'm wondering if I should be sticking some in my potted ferns or if that's a terrible idea, anyone tried it?
