I finally gave up on the $30 moisture meter and started using a bamboo skewer
Killed two calatheas last winter trusting the readout when the soil was still wet 2 inches down, so now I just poke a $2 skewer from the kitchen drawer into the pot and check if it comes out damp, and I want to know what cheap thing made you ditch a gadget.
