Cement mason in Albany told me my mortar board was hurting my brick work and I blew him off for 2 weeks
Ran into him at the supply yard on Everett Road and he pointed at my board and said the plywood was soaking up water from the mix before the brick ever got to it. I figured he was just being an old timer with nothing better to do, but I finally flipped my board over and the back was warped and stained from 4 straight jobs. Sure enough I switched to a hardboard setup and my mud stopped drying out on me halfway through the courses. Anyone else run into this and did you just seal the board or ditch it completely?
