Changed my tune on sand-lime brick after seeing the wall at the Kalamazoo library
I always figured sand-lime brick was too soft for anything but garden walls, but the crew repointing the old library on Rose Street last month showed me how tight those joints still looked after 60 years. The mason there said they only mix a 1:1:6 mortar for it and never touch the stuff with a grinder. Anyone here worked with sand-lime on a full wall, and did you find it held up or was it a headache?
