Tried the string line trick for a 40 ft garden wall in Toledo, and the wall still bowed
I set up a string line on a 40 ft garden wall in Toledo last month, thinking it would keep my courses dead flat, but the string sagged in the afternoon heat and I laid 3 courses before I caught it. I ended up tearing out about 60 bricks and resetting them with a level every few feet instead. Does anyone else have a string line method that holds up on long runs, or do you just skip it and trust the level?
