Walked a new subdivision in Boise and every third house had the same sloppy corner work
I was out in a new build area in west Boise checking on a friend's place and started looking at the brickwork on the other houses out of habit. Maybe 8 or 9 out of the 30 houses on those streets had corners that were out of plumb enough that you could see it from the sidewalk. The mortar joints were all over the place too, some running near an inch thick on the same wall. These are $450k houses and whoever laid those corners either didn't have a story pole or didn't care. It bugs me because the guys doing good work on the same street get lumped in with that. Am I wrong for thinking a straight corner is the bare minimum on new construction?
