The hotel front desk lady who saved me $800 with one sentence
Last spring I booked a 'resort view' room for a weekend in Nashville, paid $240 a night. The woman at check-in saw my receipt and just said 'honey, that's the parking lot view, let me fix that for you.' She upgraded me to the actual river view at no charge and told me to always ask at the desk because online rates are never the whole picture. Has anyone else had a front desk worker casually drop a money-saving secret like that?
Waited what, she just looked at your receipt and knew it was a parking lot view? That's wild. I always just take whatever room they give me and never say a word, maybe I've been throwing money away this whole time.
