My simple $1 binder clip trick for saving pen marks
Last week I realized my pens kept smudging across my journal pages because the clip was too tight. I slipped a small binder clip over the edge to hold it shut and now my ink stays clean. Has anyone else found a cheap fix like that?

My old journal from 2019 actually had this same problem and I used a paperclip instead of a binder clip (mostly because I couldn't find my binder clips at the time). The paperclip worked okay but it left a little dent in the cover after a few months which kind of bugged me. I remember seeing someone on YouTube use one of those tiny rubber bands meant for braces to hold their journal shut and thought that was pretty clever. So I tried that out with a random hair tie I found in my desk drawer and it worked great honestly no dents or marks at all. Just a little heads up about the binder clip thing though it can leave a crease if the paper is thin.
