The guy at the print shop said my font was too busy, and after 9 rejections I finally get it
So I've been making bumper stickers for about two years now, mostly selling them at flea markets around Dayton. Last month I brought a new batch of 30 stickers to a local print shop to get them done right. The owner, Rich, looked at my design and said point blank, "Nobody can read this from 20 feet, pal." I blew him off. I had layered three fonts together with a gradient and some clip art, and I thought it looked cool. I sold exactly 4 of those stickers in three weekends. The feedback I kept getting was that people couldn't make out the saying from a distance. I finally dumped the busier design and went with one bold font on a plain white background, and I sold 22 in a single Saturday. Rich was right and I wasted a month being stubborn. What's the simplest design you've had the most luck with?
