TIL a trip to the county clerk's office changed my view on filing fees
I stopped by the Sacramento County clerk's office last Tuesday to file a small LLC amendment and saw a sign listing a $45 fee for name changes, which seemed steep until I found out it covers a public notice in the local paper. That one detail made me realize I had never checked what those fees actually fund, and now I'm wondering if that's standard practice in other counties too. Has anyone else looked into where their filing fees go, or am I overthinking this?}
