Finally tamed the beast behind my desk after 4 years
My desk setup looked like a raccoon nest of cables for the longest time. Last weekend I finally had enough and unplugged everything, labeled each cord with a piece of masking tape, and fed them through a mesh sleeve I grabbed at Home Depot for like 8 bucks. Took me maybe an hour and a half total, and now when I look under my desk I just see one clean tube instead of a tangle of black worms. My buddy came over to grab his phone charger and actually said 'dang, when did you get your life together?' Felt good. Has anyone else had that moment where you finally fix the mess and wonder why you put it off for so long?

Oh man, I used to be one of those "it's fine, the cables are behind the desk where nobody sees them" people... but you just changed my whole view on that. I never thought a simple cable sleeve could make such a difference until I saw a friend's setup and realized how much calmer the whole room felt. Now I'm kind of embarrassed I waited so long to do the same thing.

@barbarahill you're falling for the same trap I did. That "calm" feeling is just your brain tricking you into thinking you accomplished something important. I did the whole cable sleeve thing and honestly? My desk looks better but my workflow didn't change one bit. Still can't find shit when I need it.
