My cat launched a full scale attack on the cable nest behind my TV and I lost
Last Saturday my cat Milo dove behind the TV stand and came out with a USB-C cable wrapped around his back leg like he was in a rodeo. He panicked and ran the length of my apartment, which yanked my laptop off the coffee table and sent my soundbar crashing to the floor. I spent 40 minutes untangling him while he yowled like I was the one who did it, and somehow he was totally fine. After that I zip tied every cord into one bundle and shoved it all inside a $12 plastic bin with a lid. Has anyone found a cat proof setup that doesn't look like a crime scene?
Laughed way too hard at the rodeo image because my own cat did almost the same thing last year, except she dragged a whole power strip across the room like she caught a fish. I finally gave up on hiding cords and just ran them through a cheap cord cover thing stuck to the wall, which she ignores now because she can't grab them anymore. The plastic bin with a lid is honestly a solid move, and it also doubles as a place to shove all the junk you don't want guests to see. My setup still looks a little like a crime scene but at least nobody's losing a laptop over it. Sometimes the ugly fix is the one that actually works.
