Shoutout to the ranger at Sassafras Knob who caught my cheap tarp flapping in the wind
Was up at Sassafras Knob last weekend and this older ranger walked over to my site just to point at my tarp setup. He said that $15 tarp I put up with two stakes was going to rip by morning and he was right, the corner grommet popped around 3am. The wind came through that gap between the trees and just shredded the whole thing. He came back at sunrise and showed me how he ties off to a ridge line instead of the corners. What do you all do for a tarp that won't give out on a windy ridge?
