Am I the only one who thinks a 15 minute chat at a Denver job fair did more than my resume ever did?
I went to a job fair at the convention center in Denver two years ago with 40 copies of my resume and left most of them in the car. A recruiter named Marcus spent about 15 minutes asking me what I really wanted to do instead of glancing at my paper. He pointed me to a team I never would have found on a job board, and I got the role 3 weeks later. Resume advice is fine, but I keep wondering how many people skip these events because they feel old school. Has anyone else landed something from just talking to a person at one of these?
