Serious question, is a 2 year degree actually smarter than a 4 year one in 2024?
I keep seeing people say a trade certificate or 2 year degree beats a bachelor's now, and I get the appeal, but nobody talks about the ceiling you hit later. A guy at my last job in Dayton got his associate in 18 months and was making $52k before his friends finished school, but 7 years in he's stuck at $61k while the ones with 4 year degrees moved into roles he can't apply for. So is it about what you want in year 2 or year 10? Curious what people who went the short route actually ran into down the line.
