My chalk line reel exploded on a roof job, turns out the hook was supposed to swivel
I was marking out a 40 foot ridge line in Phoenix last Tuesday and the reel just snapped apart, then I googled it and found out the hook end has a pivot for a reason, so has anyone else been fighting a stiff hook for years or was it just me?

Grabbed some WD-40 and popped the pivot loose before the next job.
