Overheard a GC in Nashville say sawdust is a warning sign

I was picking up lumber at the yard and this old GC was telling a homeowner, if you see sawdust on the floor near a wall, that's not a mess, that's a problem. Made me think about every time I brushed off dust instead of checking the framing underneath. Termites or dry rot can hide behind a clean face, and that dust is basically the only clue you get. Anyone else ever caught a hidden issue just by looking at what's on the ground first?
