Took me 5 years to learn I was stretching seams the wrong way
I've been laying carpet since 2019 and always stretched perpendicular to the seam line. Last month on a job in Fargo, a guy from the union stopped by and asked why I was fighting the backing grain. He showed me how to pull at a slight angle with the power stretcher and the seam disappeared in one pass. I felt like an idiot with 40 rolls behind me. Anyone else have a basic move they learned embarrassingly late?
