Vent: Had a huge argument with my partner over stretching carpet in a 90 degree corner

Last month in a Phoenix condo, I wanted to cut a relief notch and he insisted on just forcing the kicker. We ended up with a visible wrinkle that the homeowner pointed out, costing us half the final payment. What's your go-to method for a tight inside corner, cut it or muscle it?

A weak spot from a notch? That's just a bad cut, not the method.

Forcing it with a kicker is the only real way to get a tight seam. Cutting a notch just leaves a weak spot that will fray and come apart later. A good power stretcher and some muscle can lock that carpet into any corner without a cut. That wrinkle probably came from not having enough tension, not from the method itself.
