My cat meme templates finally got a laugh from the group chat

Spent like 2 weeks tweaking the same orange cat format with different captions, and yesterday one got 14 reactions in under an hour. What finally changed was ditching the text overlay and just letting the cat's face carry it, has anyone else found simpler templates hit harder?

Wait, you ditched the text entirely? That's so bold but I totally get it! I went through the same thing with my sad hamster pics, I kept adding funnier and funnier captions and nobody cared, then I posted one with zero words and it blew up. The face really does all the work, captions just get in the way sometimes. Two weeks of tweaking is real dedication though, glad it finally paid off with that 14 reaction moment, that feeling is the best.
