My neighbor's 2019 Leaf lost 12% battery capacity in one summer, and his charging habit is why
He parks in his garage in Phoenix and plugs into a 120V outlet every single night, rain or shine, keeping it topped at 100% until morning. I was over there last week and he mentioned the range dropped from 150 to about 132 miles since April, so I asked what he does in July when it's 110 out. He said he just leaves it plugged in because 'it stops when it's full' and the car sits in a hot garage all day at full charge anyway. That combo of heat plus sitting at 100% is basically the worst thing you can do to a lithium pack, and nobody at the dealer mentioned it when he bought the thing. Has anyone here actually seen a big capacity recovery after moving to 80% daily charging, or is that number pretty much gone for good?
