Am I the only one who thought the $5 rotisserie chicken at Costco was a scam until my neighbor showed me the receipt
I always figured those $5 birds were tiny or dry or something, so I never bothered. Then last week my neighbor Dale, who's retired and watches every penny, caught me loading groceries and said, "You're not buying the chicken? That's three meals for five bucks." I kinda brushed him off, but he pulled out his receipt and showed me he'd bought one that morning. So I tried it. That thing fed me and my kid dinner, plus I made stock with the bones and got two lunches out of the meat. I'm still a little floored. I've wasted so much money on chicken breasts that cost more and taste worse. Now I'm wondering what else I've been ignoring because it seemed too good to be true. What's the one cheap staple you slept on way too long?
