Paid $240 for a radiator flush on my old Civic, biggest waste of cash
Took my 2004 Civic to a spot in Logan Square for a routine coolant swap and they upsold me a "power flush" that did exactly nothing, engine still runs hot on the Kennedy. Anyone else get burned by these add-on services at chain shops or am I just picking bad mechanics?
Damn, that sucks but honestly this is just how it goes with cars now. Everything is a upsell, every shop has to hit some monthly quota for add-ons, and they know most people don't know enough to say no. It's the same pattern as buying a phone and they push you a $40 screen protector, or at the grocery store they ask if you want to round up for charity. They train you to feel cheap for saying no, and that's the real trick. Next time just ask for the basic flush and watch them back off real quick.
