I used to think rotary brushes were a waste, then I hit a Pittsburgh soot job
For years I only used rods and hand brushes on residential flues. Last March I had a rental property in Pittsburgh where the tenant burned green pine all winter, and the creosote was almost solid. I rented a rotary kit with a 10 foot whip for 80 bucks and it cleared that liner in under 20 minutes, stuff I would have spent 3 hours scraping at. How do you all decide when to bust out the rotary versus staying manual, or is it just a size and buildup call for you too?
