Just realized my brush setup was the reason I kept getting stuck in tight flues
Three years ago I was in an old house in Portland, narrow flue, liner was rough as hell. I kept using my standard round brush and it wedged in halfway down, took me 45 minutes to pull it back out with a winch. Last week I finally swapped to a dual-brush setup with a swivel joint, same house, same tight spot, went through in one pass. I should have done this years ago, the stiffness of the single rod was the real problem, not the size of the flue. Anyone else run into this with older masonry chimneys, or do you just stick to the basic brush and deal with the fight?
