Put my Chevelle in a storage unit with concrete floors instead of my buddy's wood-floor garage, and the rust difference after one winter was crazy
I parked my 1966 Chevelle in my friend's heated garage last winter and pulled the cover off in March to find condensation spots all over the roof and trunk. This year I rented a plain unit at a place off Route 9 in Poughkeepsie for $145 a month, concrete floor, no heat at all, and the car came out dry as a bone. I think the wood floor in his garage was holding moisture and pushing it up into the car. Now I run a cheap dehumidifier in the unit and check it every two weeks. Anyone else notice bare concrete beats a nice finished floor for keeping rust away?
