Took me 5 hours and a broken toe to figure out my car cover was trapping water under the hood
I tossed a cheap cover on my 68 Mustang in the driveway back in March and figured that was that. After a couple rainstorms I noticed the hood had these foggy spots, so I pulled the cover off and the padding underneath was soaked like a sponge. Turns out the cover was sitting right on the cowl vents and funneling water in instead of keeping it out. I spent 5 hours that Saturday moving the car around the driveway, trying different cover angles, and dropping a wrench on my foot in the process before I just gave up and threw a tarp over the roof. So now I have a cover that does nothing and a toe that still hurts. Anyone know if the vented covers actually breathe or am I just asking for the same mess again?
