My smelly trash can led me to start composting years ago
Back then, everyone just tossed food scraps without a second thought. My kitchen bin would stink up the whole place by Friday. I got tips from a neighbor at a community garden meetup. I set up a basic pile with some old fencing in the corner. Now I hardly fill my trash bag and my veggies grow better too.
That part about hardly filling your trash bag is so true. It actually throws off my whole routine for buying those bags at the store. I have a weird stockpile now because I keep forgetting I don't need them as often.
It's funny how one small change can mess up a whole system... like when you start making coffee at home and suddenly have way too many to-go cups. Or you stop getting paper bills and your filing cabinet just sits there empty. You adjust one thing and it throws five other things out of whack.
