Tap water was ruining my pour overs at my new place

Moved to an apartment in Portland last month and my coffee went flat and bitter overnight. Checked the water report, this city's supply is way harder than my old suburb, so I got a $40 pitcher filter with a hardness strip and now it tastes like proper specialty. Anyone else see a big shift just from switching water sources?
