Cafes in my town are finally adding more outlets, and it saved my workday
I've been working from cafes for years, and lately, I see more places putting power strips near tables. Last week, my usual spot had a full renovation with USB ports built into the counters. I finished a big client proposal without my battery dying, which felt like a huge win. It's nice to see the culture shifting to support our remote work habits.

Seriously though, do you think this will just become the new normal, or will cafes start charging a premium for the outlet seats? I've already seen a few places with "laptop hours" where it's more expensive to sit and work. Feels like they're finally catching up to what we need, but maybe just to find another way to make a buck off it.

Man, I feel personally attacked. My laptop battery gives up quicker than I do on a gym membership, so I'm that person lurking near the only outlet. If they start charging for plugs, I'll be out of business and a seat. Sure, it's cool they're adding more, but of course they'll milk it for cash. I'm just waiting for the day my cafe slaps a time limit on my table. I'll enjoy the free power while it lasts.
