The mask defogger that finally fixed my 6am starts in Port Fourchon
I fought fogged up masks for years, tried every spit trick and commercial spray I could find up and down the Gulf. Last month a dive buddy on a pipeline job in Port Fourchon told me to wash the mask with plain dish soap and let it dry overnight, no rinsing. I was skeptical since my old method only worked for the first 20 minutes, but it cleared my view for the whole two hour bottom time. Even the relief diver noticed and asked what I did different. Has anyone else had luck with the soap trick, or is there something better for cold water dives in winter?

Heard the same trick from an old saturation diver in Freeport last season. He swore by plain Dawn and letting it sit overnight, said the film breaks surface tension way better than any spray. Ran with it on a week of cold water dives and honestly never had to wipe the lens once.
