Journeyman called my press tool a toy, then watched me sweat a 2 inch copper line for 45 minutes
Had a guy on a restaurant buildout in Phoenix last Tuesday tell me propress fittings are for hacks who never learned to solder. I let him talk while I ran the whole riser in under an hour and he was still cutting and fluxing his third joint on a 2 inch copper run. He finally looked at my crimps and said nothing for a minute, then asked to borrow my jaw set for the rest of the day. I get the tradition argument, I really do, but a torch in a wall cavity next to old grease duct is a bad trade. Who else has run into the old guard on job sites over press fittings?
