So last week I found a rubber duck in a 4-inch main line at a Phoenix office tower

Honestly, it was lodged right before a backflow preventer, and the property manager swore the building was 'duck-free'. Has anyone else pulled something truly bizarre out of a commercial system?

Feel for you, that's a special kind of Monday right there. Pulled a full, intact plastic action figure out of a condenser drain once, no clue how it got past the trap. Makes you wonder about the secret life of buildings.

A plumber in Chicago told me he once pulled a sealed jar of pickles from a grease interceptor. The stories about what ends up in commercial pipes are always stranger than you expect. It makes you question every weird smell or slow drain you come across.

Wait, but is a jar of pickles really that bad for the pipes? I mean, it's sealed, so it's not like it's leaking gunk everywhere. It's just taking up space. The weird smells are probably from actual grease and food waste, not the random jar. People drop stuff down drains all the time, and most of it just sits there being weird, not causing a crisis.
