Thought those push fit caps on a 4 inch line were junk until the city inspector signed off on 60 of them

I laughed when my supply house guy in Tulsa pushed a $9 press cap onto a 4 inch copper riser on a 12 story job last month. We pressure tested at 150 psi for 2 hours and not one leaked, so now I keep a box in the truck. Anyone else using them on hot water returns or am I asking for trouble later?
