Warning: whoever sweated those joints at the new hotel on 8th in Boise should not be touching copper
Walked a 6 story job site last Tuesday and found 14 joints with solder globbed on like the guy was icing a cake, no heat control, no wipe, just a mess waiting to leak behind drywall, so tell me, do you make the sub rip out every one or just the ones you can see?

solder globbed on like the guy was icing a cake" is about the best way I have heard that put. And yeah it drives me nuts because it is everywhere now, not just plumbing. Went to get my truck tires rotated last month and watched the kid run the impact gun on the lugs like he was in a race, cross threaded two of them and shrugged. Same deal at the deli counter, guy slicing roast beef so fast the pieces look like confetti. Nobody slows down anymore, everybody just wants to be done. Trouble is with copper, done too fast means you are cutting it all out later, and I would make them pull every joint they touched, not just the ones you can see. You can not unsee sloppy work once you know it is hiding back there.
