My best day of the year was 12 dead hard drives in a row
Everyone hates dead drives, but last Tuesday I had a streak of 12 that all died the same way, and honestly it was the smoothest day I've had in this shop all year. Each one was the same Seagate model from the same office in Columbus, all with the same click pattern, and I knocked out the data recoveries without a single surprise. Usually I get some mystery failure that eats my afternoon, but this was just clean, predictable work where the backups actually matched what the client said. Anyone else find that a boring, repetitive failure day beats a random one every time?
