Saw a repair shop in Tulsa with 6 dead towers stacked by the door and a sign that said no fix no fee
I was in Tulsa two weeks ago helping my brother move and we stopped at a diner next to this little computer repair place. I looked in the window and there were six old towers stacked right by the front door like they were waiting on trash day, plus a whiteboard inside that said no fix no fee in big red letters. I do concrete work, not repair, but my brother's PC died in June and he paid a shop $180 just to hear it was the power supply. That still bugs me. So I want to know from people who actually do this for a living, is a no fix no fee sign a good thing or a red flag? I keep thinking about how those six towers got left there, like maybe the owners never came back or maybe the shop gave up on them. Do you guys ever hold a machine for weeks because the customer ghosts you on the estimate? And does anyone in here run the no fix no fee thing themselves, or is it just a trap to get people in the door?
