That one client who argued with me for 20 minutes about a faulty power strip

I had a guy last month at a small office on Elm Street. His computer kept shutting off randomly. I swapped the PSU, checked the motherboard, even ran a full memtest. Everything came back clean. Then I noticed his power strip was one of those ancient surge protectors with cigarette burns. I pointed at it and he got defensive, saying it worked fine for 10 years. Finally I plugged his rig directly into the wall and it ran stable for 3 days straight. He still didn't want to buy a new strip... Has anyone else had a client fight you over the obvious stuff?

oh man, i feel you on this one so hard. it's like once they decide something is fine, no amount of proof will change their mind. i had a client once who insisted his ancient router was perfect even though i showed him the speed test results right in front of him. he kept saying "but it worked yesterday" like that means anything when you're getting 5 mbps on a gigabit plan. i swear some people just hate being wrong more than they hate having a working computer. you laid out all the evidence and he still fought you, that takes some serious stubbornness.

Dude, that is some next level stubbornness right there, I don't know how you kept your cool.
