I was finishing a 200 foot walkway behind a strip mall around dusk, just bull floating the last section near some bushes. Let me tell you, I was bent over smoothing a low spot and heard this hissing that sounded like a tire leak. I stood up real slow and there was this big skunk maybe 4 feet away, tail already up and everything. I backed off and yelled for my partner to grab the trowel, but he just laughed and took a video instead. We waited 15 minutes for it to wander off, and now I always check the brush line before I start a pour. Has anyone else had to abandon a slab for wildlife, or am I the only one who got outsmarted by a skunk?
