Got booed at a Boston meetup in March for saying this, but Xbox and PlayStation fans have more in common than Nintendo fans
I went to a small gaming meetup at a bar near Fenway in March, maybe 40 people there, and I made the mistake of saying this out loud during the open chat. Half the room groaned at me, but I still think it is true. PlayStation and Xbox people argue over the same kind of stuff: frame rates, exclusives going to PC, and how much a console costs. Nintendo people are playing a different sport entirely, and that is not an insult. I have watched PS5 and Series X owners bond over a shared deal on a 2 year old game in about 5 minutes flat. Nintendo folks just smile and go back to their Switch. Maybe the peace talks should start with that gap instead of pretending it is not there. What would actually get those two sides to sit at the same table, or am I wrong about the split?
