Spent 2 hours hunting down a dead zone in my controller, turned out to be the couch cushion

My left stick felt stiff when I pushed it forward for about a month and I kept blaming drift, so I bought a $25 repair kit and watched 3 teardown videos at my kitchen table in Dayton. Opened the whole thing up, cleaned the contacts, put it back together, and the stick still stuck. Turns out a little crumb jammed under the rubber cap and that was it, 2 hours of my Saturday for a piece of cracker. Has anyone else pulled a controller apart over something that dumb, or am I alone here?
