The Nintendo rep at PAX West let my kid play 8 minutes past the cutoff and it fixed how I do console time
We were at the Seattle convention center last summer and the booth worker running the Switch line said the timer was just a guide, not a rule. My son got 8 minutes instead of 5 and stayed calm when it was over, mostly because he knew nobody was going to yank the controller away. Since then I set loose limits at home instead of strict ones and the meltdowns are way down. Anybody else find that a little breathing room works better than a hard alarm?
