My brother in law swore the moon landing was faked, then showed me his proof and it fell apart in 5 minutes
My brother in law has been into moon landing stuff for years, and last month at a family dinner in Fresno he finally sat me down to walk me through his proof. He pulled up a photo and pointed at the shadows, saying they proved studio lights, so I asked him to check the same shadows on a flagpole picture from our own backyard. He got quiet, then tried the radiation belt thing next, and I asked why the astronauts didn't glow in the clips, which he couldn't answer. The part that got me was when he cited a documentary from 2015 that he'd never watched past the first 20 minutes, and the second half actually explains his own points away. He's a smart guy who builds cabinets for a living, so I was surprised he never checked the source himself. Made me wonder how much of what I believe about other stuff came from somebody I trusted who never checked either. What's the one claim you've seen get passed around the most without anybody going back to the original source?
