That Tuesday when the power went out and my candle stash finally earned its keep
A line of storms knocked our power out for about 9 hours last Tuesday, and I ended up spending the evening reading by candlelight on the porch instead of staring at a screen. I've been slowly picking up cheap beeswax candles at estate sales for two years, and that night I finally burned through six of them and realized the plain ones smell better than anything scented. It made me want to set up a proper little candle station with matches and a snuffer so it's not a hunt every time. What do you all keep on hand for cozy nights like that, and do you have a trick for making cheap candles burn longer?
