Question about finding a good co-op game for my son and me

My son just turned 8 and I want to find a couch co-op game we can play together on weekends. We tried a racing game last month but he got bored after 10 minutes because the controls were too complicated. Now we mostly play simple platformers, but I'm running out of ideas. Has anyone found a game that worked well with a younger kid that still keeps an adult interested?

Honestly, try Castle Crashers, simple controls and funny enough for both of you.

@lilychen yeah I feel that, Castle Crashers is such a solid pick for playing together. It's one of those games where even if you mess up, you're still laughing about it. I mean, my partner and I still quote that game randomly years later.
